Locked in darkness for perhaps centuries, it’s easy to lose time when there’s little reason to keep it. The outside world passed me by until the day hope returned.
I sensed a presence. Something very large was nearing my prison. Whatever it was, I sensed a bump. My world tilted. I felt myself falling… CRASH!
My spirit had been freed. I’d always promised to kiss whatever released me but had to rethink when reality dawned. I decided to grant it three wishes instead.
The first wish made, “I wish I didn’t break that urn.”
Locked in darkness for perhaps centuries…
This is the photo prompt from the #100WCGU blog

I love it. This would probably be me if I tried to take a picture in a museum. Though in my case I’m sure there wouldn’t be a genie, only an angry security guard.

Thanks for the comment.
Luckily most museums don’t tend to display fragile items on pedestals. 🙂

Wow, this is such a creative take on the prompt! And superbly written!
I was so swamped with work last week — and also involved in the National Poetry Month poem challenges — that I didn’t even have time to look at this prompt, but I’m determined to find time to write a story based on it even though the links are closed. I just think it’s too good to pass up.
P.S. I do love your header.

Thanks for the comment.
I try to look at prompts in odd directions while keeping them G rated in case students find this blog. 🙂
