Marie had an invisible friend. It worried her mother.
“I’m Doctor Dodgson. You can call me Alice. I’d like to speak to Marie alone.”
Alice was about to close the door when Marie warned, “He’s late.”
“What was the rabbit late for?” wondered Alice as she saw a rabbit enter. “I see you brought your pet rabbit.”
Marie giggled, “You see him?”
The rabbit stood, “Surely you remember me?”
Alice’s childhood memories flooded back, “White Rabbit?”
“It’s time for Marie’s adventures in Wonderland.”
Alice realised what fun lay ahead for Marie.
Speaking to Marie’s mother, “Marie is perfectly alright, I once had an imaginary friend just like hers.”

I’m sure there will be lots of folks with memories about imaginary friends Ross. You missed out the ‘late’ bit but what’s a time lapse between friends. I’m sure they will have great fun with it next week!

Mea culpa… I probably abridged the prompt when quickly noting it down before finding time to start the story. The original has had a slight adjustment to include the full prompt. The story itself is basically unchanged. 🙂

The storyline had me thinking of a movie starring James Stewart. “Harvey” was made in 1950.
Elwood P. Dowd had an invisible, 6′ tall friend named Harvey. Harvey had a rabbit-like appearance. It’s a wonderful story and Harvey would be a good friend, imaginary or not. 🙂
