100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups – Wk#33 – Prompt: Picture – 100 words – “I Believe”

08 Mar

A frantic mother was searching the gallery for her lost daughter. She was about to call a gallery guard when she saw her daughter sitting, staring at a driftwood sculpture of a horse.

“Sweetheart, mummy was worried. You should have stayed with me.”

“…but this horse is beautiful. I’m wishing she was real.”

“Wishing won’t make it happen. It’s not real.”

“Daddy always tells me if I dream and believe, I’ll achieve so I’m wishing she was real.”

Mummy sat with her daughter and listened to her whisper, “I believe.”

Her daughter pointed to the horse now becoming real, “See.”

Charming. Loved the video too. Totally agree with the sentiments; believing is halfway to achieving. Well written.

      Thanks for the comment.

The idea was to send a positive message if a child were to read. 🙂

Lovely piece, Ross. Have you read The Velveteen Rabbit? Reminded me of that.

Aha! That’s the first time one of my comments has appeared on your blog!!!
I expect the others are in your spam bin!
I’m not sure what Anna has done to persuade WordPress to let her in (I must ask her!) because I know she is blogspot too. WordPress don’t seem to like non-wordpress comments.
Well, at least I know your blog accepts via facebook!

      Thanks for persevering.

I have checked my spam list and didn’t find your comments so I’m not sure what has been happening. It’s nice to be in contact. 🙂

Sometimes I wish that I could wish that hard and change reality. I think children are closer to that power. Lovely post as usual.

      Thanks for the comment.

Whether reality for us or not, the imagination of a child isn’t held to the same rules as an adult. 🙂
