100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups – Week #23 – 100 words – Rewrite a Christmas Carol themed Christmas dinner – “Quiet Christmas”

15 Dec

Quiet Christmas
(The tune: “White Christmas”)

I’m dreaming of a quiet Christmas,
But the kids won’t let it be.
Where their teardrops glisten,
And I won’t listen,
To hear complaining loud to me.

I’m dreaming of a quiet Christmas,
Now I wake from sleep so deep.
The children giggling,
Between us wriggling,
I hear their joy so clear for me.

I’m dreaming of a family Christmas,
Sat for dinner happily.
Our joy together,
No care the weather,
This is Christmas best for me.

* * * * * * * * * *

For all those who believe, Happy Christmas.

I agree. We all think it would be good to have a quiet Christmas but when it comes to the day, it’s brilliant to spend it together as a family. Hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas.

Love this tune. No chance of a quiet Christmas here- love the hustle, bustle and noise that comes with all the family. Cant wait
    Have a good one 🙂

      Thanks for the comment.

“White Christmas” is my mother’s favourite so I thought I’d use it as the tune. 🙂

White Christmas is my favourite Christmas song. May your days be noisy and fun, and may all your Christmasses be a family one. (Doesn’t quite scan but you get the message). 🙂

The silly season as some say but the fun of the season only enhances the experience.

A quiet Christmas may have its benefits yet I think I prefer the sounds of friends and family when I can.
